Forestry Standards

Miglas manufacturers its windows and doors mainly from AFS certified Victorian Ash Hardwood from Victoria.

AFS (Australian Forestry Standard) certifies sustainable forest management and is recognised by PEFCTM - the European Standard for sustainable forestry management.

Miglas can also offer FSC certified timber on request from overseas resources.
Currently there is no Victorian Ash Hardwood available in FSC.

As company concerned about environmental aspects, Miglas currently explores options for further improvement for its timber component.

PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, founded in 1999 which promotes sustainable managed forests through independent third party certification. The PEFC provides an assurance mechanism to purchasers of wood and paper products that they are promoting the sustainable management of forests.

With AFS certified timber you purchase the following benefits:

  • independent certified proof of the sustainable management of forests

Credibility

  • internationally recognised accreditation and certification processes to ensure independence of control, standard setting and delivery of sustainable forest management
  • independent certification systems on six continents and their stakeholders, including woodland owners, industry, environmental and social interests amongst others

Accountability

  • regular independent certified controls from the tree in the forest to the final product reassure that the wood-based products can be traced back to sustainable managed forests
